It also gives emotional freedom to the children as they develop their own emo style of haircut and clothing. Even young moms and dads can give different punk-styles of hair for babies and toddlers. By getting an Emo haircut one can become comfortable with himself as his new look will define his personality.

People exhibit their emotions and feelings through fashion and music. The emo haircut feature asymmetrical hair line instead of symmetrical hair lines with jet black color and bold highlights. The color of the hair is made jet black by dying and the edges are shaded with purple or blue. The hair is also highlighted with shades in contrast to the color of background hair.

If you are coloring your hair by yourself then use the dye of a branded company for good and long lasting effect. Sometimes the black dyed color of hair look unnatural but this reflects the individuality and emotions of the person carrying it. Even the emo hair accessories are used according to the person’s emo look like bows or wicked hair clips with bats and spiders on it. That’s why emo is also known as the emotional punk movement.

Guys I gotta say, don’t try to be something that your not. If your not emo don’t try to be. You can enjoy the style and the music without faking being something that your not. why do you all label yourselves? it’s pointless. and as many of you said, cutting yourself does NOT make you ‘emo’. and i understand it’s very hard to stop, but you have to. when you cut yourself it means you have a psychological problem - i’m totally against doctors and modern medicine and all that crap, but cutting yourself is just not a way to deal with problems.
Why should you “emos” CARE if you’re emo or not? Why should you CARE if people cut their hair like “that”, or listen to “this” kind of music, or wear “these” kind of clothes? It doesn’t mean they’re trying to be emo! And labeling yourself EMO? Really. I’m not knocking emos or anything, but really. It’s just jagged hair, dark, tight clothes, and writing POEMS. No one can DEFINE emo, so don’t try to define it to me or anyone else.
All “emo” is is LABELING yourself, and its idiotic. It’s just another fashion trend.
Now don’t reply to this all hatefully, I’m telling you my opinion.
i think that being an emo means more than just some kinds of style is how you leave is how you act, is what you do. i was traying to be an emo a few days ago, just cause i felt like it. but tell you what be who u r if you like to dress like one, dress like one thas not going to make you an emo but at least if you like the way you look do it. i’ may be an emo but i’m not always sad, i laugh to. i have my own friends. and they like me because of the way i’ am not because the way i look or act. be who you r. nobody else has the righ to say anything about you (eventhough some r going to judge you) if you like to dress like one do it. if you r one, good. but just be yourselve

I just like the hairstyles, i think they’re awesome. But if you’re “going emo” just to fit in, then you’re not being ‘individual’ like most posers try to be. You have to be someone you are, not who you wish you were. I have emo hair, but i wear goth/punk/girly/skater/emo/scene/nerd/random clothes. All at once sometimes.

Umm… yeah… I know a guy who’s so desperate for attention he pretends to be the girl in the last photo…. He has it as HIS facebook profile pic but it is on a fake girl profile he goes around online pretending to be that person. So sad and pathetic… I found the profile so I did a reverse image search and it brought me here. Emo isn’t cool, it’s just sad…

“emo” was first used as a state of mind or an emotional state, now people label it as a type of clothing or “trend”. then normal kids call themselves emo because it looks cool to be “dark” when really their not dark at all. not even emo, there called trend setters. i mean if your really emo you would be too depressed or unconcerned with the world to even care what people label you. so please don’t be FAKE. labels don’t matter. so saying “how to be emo” is like saying “how to fake a personality trait and make your parents think you have emotional problems”.
also i think you kids need to stop trying to climb up the social cool chain with this “douche bag” stuff. going around saying “oh em gee look at my cool new skull earrings! I’m so emo!” makes you sound completely retarded. stop trying to find the next thing that will make you popular. you can’t change what’s inside with a new poofy haircut. you will still be you, just with a poofy emo poser haircut. lastly “cutting yourself” is not gonna make you look any more emo. it makes you look like a person begging for attention, saying “i cut myself, it feels so good! emo is the best!” makes you sound like a total douche bag who cuts themselves just to be noticed for trying to be emo. i wonder who connected emo with “cutting” because emo used to mean an emotional state of depression, not a stupid trend for kids to abuse and call themselves “creative, “original”, or cool. anyone who thinks changing there wardrobe to nothing but black clothes and listening to “rock” music and act like you knew those bands all your life makes you sound like someone who is a follower not a leader. how about you kids “lead” something for once and stop fooling yourselves. no matter how many times you tell someone your emo your not on the inside. read a book, go see a movie or something. stop wasting your time on the computer talking about cutting to make yourself seem cool. this may sound really mean but its the truth and hopefully you will realize that some day, and hopefully before your parents decide to give you therapy for your dumb ass fake me out emo act. I’m sure in the place of less wealthy kids who barely get new clothes every three years will open your eyes. be happy and live your childhood before you have to grow-up, get a real job, provide for yourself, and make money to have a place to live. because not everybody can be a fake emo rockstar, most of you guys will have to go to college, major in something, and compete for a job in this recession. and about %5 of you kids will be so caught up in being cool you will fail school and never get anywhere in life. eventually getting pregnant/getting someone pregnant and you will wish that you spent more time on school work than on trends.

I wouldnt class my style as Emo at all….after all ive been rather grungey my hole life as i am a skater chick….people say i dress like an “emo” and try label me an “emo” but to be honest just coz i have navy blue hair and a graduated bob (which i have had for years lol) and i like black and stripes, skulls, stars and Jack from nightmare before xmas doesnt make me one…Im a very happy person not depressed at all and would never cut myself loool….i listenin to all music from cheesey pop to dub step and indie to funky house…i hold down a full time job and am very highly qualified so as for the comment about “will never get anywhere in life” thats a load of bollocks. I have always dress between the goth and grunge style which is basically all the new “emo” look is a cross between goth, rock and grunge…i like looking different thats it i personally do not want to be the same as anyone else…and quite frankly now “emo” is fast becominm a fashion trend which will fade out soon enough.xx
