Emo is short for emotional and this kind of hairstyle is preferred by those who are teenagers. The emo hairstyle is inspired from the Gothic lifestyle. The hair color is usually black with only streaks of white bangs or fringes. It’s completely straight and sleek.

Those who have naturally wavy or curvy hair would require straightening tongs to make them straight.

If you have blonde or red hair then be extremely sure about dying it black. In case you don’t like the look, it can be quite a time consuming and expensive affair to get you original hair color back. The emo hairstyle cut has many variations, but the cut is what hairdressers would usually refer to as a blunt with some bangs that are cut in.

The most common emo hairstyle is the one with a blunt cut with a bit of curl. There are heavy bangs that cut across the forehead from temple to temple. The other popular style is to cut the fringe or the bangs that would cover up half of the face. Most emo teenagers feel that the covered up look gives them the most emo look.

emo is crap cuz there are lots of emo posers in the world but REAL ones are lacking. in my skool there r lots of POSERS ANd EMO WANNABE, but 2 find a real one, that is HARD.
emo is not short for emotional, it is short for emo-hardcore music that came into the world in the 90′s…so i think you should know what your talking about…plus curly/wavy emo hair is cute on asian people and girls that think they are emo…emo is not just a trend, it is a way of life for some people so all the posers out there should know what emo actually stands for…

seriously people, emo is a stereotype. not all people who dress like that are depressed, and if someone wearing skinny jeans with sideswept bangs has a smile on their face, that doesn’t make them a damn poser! why are you all so critical?
That is so true marina. just cause someone is like that but still seems to be having a good time, dosnt make them a poser. i have plenty emo people in my school that you would never think to be. even one of the guys who are usually out playing football, i found out was really depressed, turned out he was emo. do you all understand wat emo is, or are you still stuck behind wat you want to think it is.
Okay, let’s get this straight. Not to brag, but I’m hella popular. I wear skinny jeans, I dye my hair(not black, but red, blonde, blue, etc.), I shop at Hot Topic, but I also shop at Hollister and rue21. I am in track and I am one of the best distance runners. I’m VERY loud and if you see me, most likely have a huge smile on my face. I wear Converse, tight shirts, whatever. I like how I am, and I’m not emo so y’all need to shut up, because if you wear black and dye your hair funky colors, and shop at Hot Topic, it DOESN’T mean you are emo, goth, punk, etc. It means you are ORIGINAL. Now, if you are all gross with greasy hair, mope around all of the time, and wear black ALL of the time, then you still aren’t any of those. It just means you’re depressed, OKAY?!
for god sake!emo is not a style, its not a label, its someone that is emotionally unstable. they feel like there is no reason for them to be here. you never no, a girl in your class, could be really popular, blond, pretty, rich, and be depressed.
real ‘emo’s’ actually are on medication for depression, so dont you dare say your depressed, sad, maybe but not depressed, most of you posers have no idea what the hell its like, so start to be unique, [you-neek] to be your own person, and do think your emo cause you wear black.
