The Perfect Emo Hairstyle for the Emo Beginners
You can simply not be Emo if you do not have the right hairstyle and although the more unique is generally considered to be better, there are some guidelines that you can follow if you are a beginner to the world of Emo.
First of all, most Emo kids adopt the look of the reverse mullet. This is generally longer at the front than it is at the back and is rather difficult to do at home by yourself so perhaps it would be better to have this look professionally cut at the hairdressers? Although this reverse mullet is very popular, it is not unusual for an Emo kid to have one length hair with a lot of choppy layers chucked in for good measure and this applies to both guys and girls.

This is almost considered to be a symbol of the Emo kid not wanting to see the real world and also not wanting others to get to know the real them so has more meaning than just a simple hairstyle.
Experimenting is normally a big thing for Emo kids and with regards to this, there are no limits. Spikes are great for those that have shorter hair but are trying to grow it out and again this applies to both boys and girls of an Emo following.

for all those out their with thick hair use a razor on yur hair
it may sound crazy i dint think of anything about it the first time i herd of it
but it really works, just take a razor
grab a lock of hair put on side on the razor against yur hair, and
yur thumb on the other and gently pull.

and ps.. no a hair salon or hair dresser isnt always the best choice..
unless its done by an emo that know’s what their doing..
or you can do like me get drunk one night come home do your hair for three houres and it turns out amazing.
emo hair can be done by pretty much anyone.
give it a try one night yu’d be surprised.

I am half SPanish and I’ve got naturally curly and thick hair. If you want an “Emo” or “Scene” cut like me, I would sugget you get it cut professionall done by someone who has experiance doing more “punk” “Emo” cuts. The woman that cut my hair specialized in that specific way of cutting and she did an incredible job with my hair.
Professionaly done, they will use a razor for layers and to thin out your hair. It works wonders but I would not reccomend you doing it on your own because you could seriously screw ip your hair, unless your aiming for a look that’s completely your own.
If you do have the same type of hair as me, whatever your race might be, you need to keep in
mind that straighting your hair with a flat iron will be nessecary to mantain the perfect “Emo” cut.
Also keep in mind this WILL damaage got hair slot so use heat sprays to protect your hair while straightenig it and I would advise straightening it once to two times a week, if your hair doesn’t get
Greasy fast.
If you have medium lentgh hair you can still get the same cut and if you natrally thin hair then you wouldn’t want to thin it with a razor becasue you would a thicker look on top with layers.
It’s a great cut for any girl :]

How i got volume in my hair is that i use tresseme or however you spell it but in the shower i flip my hair and shampoo it and then rinse it out and then have some conditioner and then flip it again put it in and then rinse it out. Then lol you have to blow dry it but flip it again and then ur hair is big and poofy (so is ur bangs) then you straighten it only (DONT COMB OR BRUSH IT AFTER BLOW DRYING) and then you should have volume there!!! Hope it works!!!! Oh and one more thing, even though hair spray isnt good for your hair, spray it at the roots and a tiny bit on your bangs. Hope it works though.

Use heat protection after you wash your hair. I use Cristophie leave-in conditioner spary with heat protection. It works. I straighten my hair every morning and I have no splits.
Sooo yeah. Didn’t mean to chew on you guys, but emo is what you make of it.
